What is that button for ? By intuition I though about entering
a value through the keyboard and then "apply" it to the function
as it is written in the manual but I´m wrong or it doesn´t work.

You may have 2 or more speed dials acting on the same function.

In this case, every time you change the value of a speed dial, the function speed will change (the speed of the speed dial you changed is sent to the function).

The "apply" button will send the current speed of the speed dial to the function, without having to change the values in the speed dial.

Well, I tested it and .. it didn´t work.
The widget applies the new value instantely, no matter if the
"apply" button was press and/or visible or not. Nor does the second
widget reflects the values of the first one...
Maybe I didn´t see the point here.
But for me anyway, the behaviour of the "apply" button would make even sense
with only one widget attached. Since it´s irritating when changing, say, from 9 to 10 seconds,
the fixture or chaser or chuelist will make a "jump start" when entering the "1" and then slow
down when the "0" follows... not to mention situations where you whant to pre-enter the
value in advance.

Hmm...thinking about it, perhaps there are more cases where a "apply" button could be helpful...

The words you're looking for are "it does not do what I expect it to do."

That is exactly what I explained.
Nor does the second
widget reflects the values of the first one...
I did not say that it would do this.
Maybe I didn´t see the point here.
Probably. Don't display the button if you don't use it. I always hide it.

OK now I understand what you want. You want a "only send value on Apply, not on value change" option.

beeing the BDU that I am I beg you patient ...

I´ve made a Lubuntu machine up an running an prepare to install
all I need to compile the software and try to dig into the source code.
Hope this helps me to better understand the concept.

When you change the value of a speed dial, this value is sent to the functions attached to the speed dial.
When you click on the apply button of a speed dial, the current value of the speed dial is sent to the functions attached to the speed dial.

I´m still not sure if I understand that:
"When you click on the apply button of a speed dial, the current value of the speed dial is sent to the functions attached to the speed dial without touching/changing the actual values again"
in the sense that "apply" means "resend" ?
