Here's another use of this forum.
I am implementing a new way to display buttons status in VC, since quite few of you asked for it.
Considering that this change will have some impact on the final VC look & feel, I am opening a poll here for you to vote what solution you like more.
I am proposing 3 different styles.
In the first two cases the "LED" status will resize depending on the button size.

Once a considerable number of votes will be placed here, I will proceed to implement also the "function change" feature, meaning that when a Chaser's step will be switched, the button status will blink to yellow for 100-200ms.

Having had a look at the proposals, both up close and from the other side of the room, I think that style 3 is the clearest and easiest to tell the difference between on and off.

I think that this style also looks very smart and tidy.

I prefer the style 1, it reminds me of the button with integrated LED but all three are clear.

I'd prefer 1 or 3 - 3 is the clearest, 1 looks more like a physical desk.

I'd like to be able to choose the on and off colours of the "LED" or border.

Firstly to aid function recognition when on.

Secondly to be able to reduce visual clutter by setting the off colour to match the button or the frame colour.

My preferred solution to recognising when a button is on is to be allowed to choose what colour the whole button changes to when on. Not that I'm against having an "LED" or border as well!

I prefer option 1.

I think Option 1 is best

Option 1 is the most elegant, the problem is that the LED will be hard on a green button.
Unless color in black the gray border when the button is active ...

To me from a distance 3 is the easiest to see. I also like the idea of being able to change the hole button color when active.

Style 3 rules over all!

Poll closed.
Styles #1 and #3 have been included into version 4.3.3
They can be selected with the new panel to set widgets default properties.
Can be reached from the Virtual Console properties toolbar button.
