adding programs to the pi

Is it possible to add a program to the raspberry pi with qlc? I would like to add rtp midi to have midi notes advance scenes from a foot switch or a computer running ableton for clicks and cues over ethernet.

Most probably the RPI image is based on debian, so just "ssh into rpi", and "sudo apt install whatever".

I was able to add Mclaren labs RTP midi and get to start on boot. After some trial and error I got it to work with a footswitch or my laptop with Ableton Live. We use Ableton for click track and cues to sync the lights. It works well so far only in the rehearsal room. I can't wait to try it on the road.
