Custom items import 3D Viewer not visualized

Hi,

I started experimenting with the 3D viewer in QLC+ v5.
Tried to import a custom obj file (a DIY tower I created to hang some fixture I use while learning QLC+.
Attached both the original design (FreeCAD), as well as the mesh export.
ExampleTower.png
For some reason I never get to see the result of the import: the object is present in the list (and the coordinates seem OK) but I don't see it appearing (5.0.0 beta2).

Doing something wrong here?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/132UIOq ... sp=sharing (obj file)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1382Lfh ... sp=sharing (FreeCAD source file)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13BHktl ... sp=sharing (alternative obj file) --> This one seems to be closest to the examples provided in the 'stage' directory.

Edit: didn't notice there was beta3, so tried it also on that version, but same result.

Thx,
Maarten

Found a solution/workaround...

After some hours of searching I came to the following conclusions:
  • FreeCAD obj export (Wavefront) clearly can't be imported directly...
  • ... but noticed that the example files delivered with QLC+ were created in Blender... so imported - via STL export my FreeCAD files in Blender and re-exported to obj format:
    • Didn't work at first ... using the latest build (although making a cube directly in Blender worked without any issues during the import in QLC+)
    • Tried it with the version 2.7.9 (https://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.79/) ... worked like a charm. ONLY the scale and relative positioning wasn't correct ... but that's something that can be corrected directly in Blender.
I'll have to learn a bit about Blender to get better exports, but I consider my issue resolved. Maybe good to mention later in the documentation that ideally files are created in Blender. Unless it was just PEBKAC :D
