Video links lost when QLC+ restarted

Every time I close and restart QLC+ the links to videos are lost, so I have to specify them again in the video function editor. Any thoughts on how to solve this?
OpenSUSE Leap 15.5 running QLC+ 4.12.7

The links are to files in local folders

Open your project file with a text editor and look if the location of the files are hard coded. (starting with root f.i. - If a user directory is present, then make sure QLC+ runs under the same user...)
Notice: create a copy of your showfile before editing ... if you break the structure of the file, you break the project.

Indeed I would be curious to see if the saved paths are relative or absolute.
Can you please share the relevant fragments of you project?
