Ayra Digicon-1 encoder

I'm struggling to get my Ayra Digicon-1 MIDI wing encoder wheels to connect properly to a level knob.
The problem seems to be this: the Ayra Digicon-1 has TWO different MIDI signals for each encoder wheel: one for turning clockwise and one for counter-clockwise.
And now I have to find a way to use these TWO midi notes to control a SINGLE knob in my virtual console.

I have the same problem with my Faderport 16.

Haven't investigated the issue yet but I'll follow this and keep trying.
