Button flash - option to always start over instead of on/off

I am trying to set up a simple light show with a light flashing upon external trigger (MIDI).
Cannot manage yet to make a proper flash:

1) I tried the Button "Flash function" but I find two limitations:
a. I cannot adjust the flash duration/fadeout (changing the scene timing params doesn't affect this)
b. If I want to do this faster than every few hundred ms (e.g. by hitting the snare few times), I'm limited by the button's speed, it seems.

2) I imagine an extra button function, instead of on/off, to simply restart the function/chase, so that I can set up a simple one with a fade out which will always start from the beginning rather than having the on/off.

3) I may be able to recreate this with some combination of chaser/sequence/cue list. Not able yet, but in any case it may be too complicated for a simple scene flash.
EDIT: I made a chaser with a single scene with fadeout. Now in VC everytime i activate it it starts over. nice! but still would be good to have this as a button
