The DMX input of (here an EntTec USB Pro MK2) isn't able to listen to incoming DMX signals.
See thread ^^ above with the reproduction of steps.
When I recollect correctly, there were also some issues reported in the forum, showing no input signals.

I just tested Linux to Windows and Windows to Linux between an Open DMX (as output) and a Pro Mk2 (as input)
Everything works as expected with the latest 4.12.5.
