Won't Allow me to create New Fixture

Hi, I am new to DMX and QLC+. I have watched the tutorials online and I light the software, but when I click on the "NEW" icon to add a fixture not listed, the a fixture window does not open. Not sure if I am scipping a step, or if software is buggy. I am using 4.12.1. Also tried 4.12.2. Any help would be appreciated.

For a new fixture definition - you have to use the fixtureeditor what is a separate program which is installed.
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore
