Hi Developers.
We only use capabilities with presets in the Ray Console because this is much more reliable than the capability name which is entered manually. However our analysis estimates that 52976 of the 59792 capabilities listed across all fixture files in the database do not use presets. I have a few questions:

1. Are all fixtures in the library going to be updated to version 4.12.1 or above and so use presets?
2. Is the list of presets going to be extended to include more capabilities?
3. Is the only way to update a fixture file to loaded into fixture definition editor 4.12.1 and save it again?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Latest version is 4.12.2 and fixtures have already been migrated to presets. (at least channels)

Capabilities are another story and it's not something I can do alone. You are welcome to help improving them.
2. Is the list of presets going to be extended to include more capabilities?
Most likey yes.
3. Is the only way to update a fixture file to loaded into fixture definition editor 4.12.1 and save it again?
Don't understand. Delivered fixtures are consistent with the defintiion format and fixture editor is backward compatible.

Thanks for the quick update!

Great to hear all channels have been moved to presets!

1. We would be very keen to help with capabilities. We will discuss what we can help with and then post some clear suggestions.

2. Great, we will work on some suggestions.

3. We were wondering if there is a way to script converting fixtures to a newer version. However, since you have already converted the fixture files, it is now irrelevant.

Thanks and looking forward to improving QXF!
