Elation Midicon causes lots of long blackouts

Hi. I am using a Elation Midicon and a DMXKing mini. It all works fine with other software but with QLC everything keeps going dark for quite a while (different amounts of time, i.e. 20 secs) then everything comes back for a while (fewer times than it goes dark) then it goes dark again. This cycle seems to continue forever. It was not happening without the midicon.
