QLC+ causes VLC to crash on Ubuntu 23.04

I have a machine running Ubuntu 23.04.
I have VLC media player, ver 3.0.18 playing a continuous playlist.
When I have QLC+, ver 4.12.6 loaded to control lighting, after some time VLC will stop playing.
Only when I disable QLC+ and restart the computer will VLC return to normal.
QLC is setup to play audio but it does not play any audio during this setup.
It only controls DMX lights and may sit idle for several hours.
Any helpful thoughts about this would be appreciated.
