Installation problem: seeking admin access?

Hi, I'm a bit of a MacOS noob, and I haven't installed a program by dragging and dropping it into the Applications folder before.

I downloaded the current version of the program, and when I ran the downloaded file, it showed me an icon that I requested me to drag & drop into the Applications folder.

When I attempt to drag and drop, I get a prompt asking me for Administrator name and password. I'm stuck as I don't know what the "name" part is. Where do I look for that, somewhere in system preferences?

I hope someone here can guide me. TIA! :P

This is not a QLC+ issue so support here would be limited for it.

I would need to know the version of MacOS to be able to help you. I would think you would be able to see the name under users and groups.
