Say you have a basic setup - see the project file annexed

Operate mode
select 'base light intensity'
select 'base position'

Switching on EFX Q2 EFXR0x0 - fine channels kick in and disturb the view does (again) change the base position of the movers.
Important: EFX Width here is 0 zero

!! now the EFX reckons the existence of an LSB channel in the calculation !!
Because the the LSB channels of the EFX kicks in. <- BAD

The relative mode should be: copy the current values (including the LSB values) of the channels involved and start with these FROM DELTA 0 + 0 (LSB) when the EFX is activated.

With the current QLC+ sources I cannot see the behaviour you're describing.
EFX with zero height/width doesn't affect initial position at all.
