I was just looking for something else and saw your post. I just had to do this. So I used Mixxx, which is a free dj software to get the BPM for a song I was working on. I had to build my song at the front end with exact timing so the beat grid would line up when I put it into Q Light Controller. It does take a few minutes to set it up correctly but worth the extra work if you are programming extremely precise shows.
On the flip side it would be nice if we could adjust the starting point of the beat grid in Q Light Controller+
