I find issue when multi midi are connected to PC and the USB (Hub) go down...
When USB DEVICES are reconnected the MIDI's are not in same order and I need to re setting all (MIDI INPUT - MIDI FEEDBACK - PROFILE).
I use QLC+ lastest :
1 AKAI APC40
1 AKAI APC20
1 AKAI LPD8
1 WORLDE EASYPAD MIDI
to connect MA2 by 3 universes ARTnet

Problem is that QLC+ stores only interface number, not any persistent identification (USB ID/Name/...).
Same problem is with sound cards and network interfaces...

I don't know if it's the same with other OSs, but in windows, if you plug a USB device into a different USB port, it appears to be a different physical device.

For instance, if you plug an HP LJ4250 into a USB port, it will be installed as HP LaserJet 4250. If you unplug it, then plug it into a different USB port, it will set up as HP LaserJet 4250-1

I hope that helps.

For exact that reason I use a powered USB-hub for my periferal and make sure that it's always connected into the same USB port.
Be careful that f.i. an Enttec interface needs its own dedicated USB port on the computer...
