Hello

I am a bit of a Newbie here. I used to do a lot of work with stage lighting but it was pre the widespread use of LED Bars and Led lights etc. Give me dimmer racks and Parcans! So this is probably an obvious question. I have looked on the web but can't find the answer - probably not knowing how to search for it.

Some Elumen 8 COB Tri 4 Pixel Batten have been aquired. Manual from http://www.prolight.co.uk/ftp-in/ELUM081_Manual.pdf. I am using it in 15 chanel mode and I have issues when creating colour washes and changing between them as the Chanel 4 and 5 stays at 100% when it has been set to this elevel, in the DMX mapping it is labeled Colour Select asd well as intensity.... What does this mean? I can't seam to find any info out about it anywhere!

Thanks in advance!

Is the fixture definition correct? In 15 ch mode you should have 4 heads defined...
and
how (where) did you discover that ch. 4 and 5 are at 100%? Looking at the manual it says 'no function'
I'm afraid that the way the channels are arranged in 15ch mode - this fixture is incompatible with QLC+

Hello

Thanks for your response. From what I can see it appears the definition is correct according to the manual. It list the following.
CH4
000-015 Red 1 (0-100%)
016-223 No function
224-239 Colour select
240-255 No function
CH5
000-015 Green 1 (0-100%)
016-223 No function
224-239 Colour select
240-255 No function
CH6
000-015 Blue 1 (0-100%)
016-255 No function

For the other heads it is the same as Chanel 6 for the three colours on each head and works as I would expect

Looking at the DMX output from within QLC it tells me the QLC output is at 100% or 255 for channels 4 and 5 and I am unable to do anything to bring it down to 0 without going to the Simple Desk and bringing it down! I was trying to understand what the colour select option was for to see if that would explain the behaviour - I was going to try and edit the fixture to just set chanels 4 and 5 the same as 6 to see if that made it work?

What does the colour select option do for 224-239 as I can't find any more info on it!

Regards

John

My crystal ball tells me: predefined colors ??
No really - ask the manufacturer what he means with that ... I find it an odd DMX config. (Or they use these predefined colors in macro's or builtin shows...)

QLC+ had no way to throw 255 to ch.4 and 5 -> so it has to be programed somewhere ...

test:
create a blank project - go live -> ch. 4 & 5 at 255 ?
no: check your scenes, .... settings - as said QLC+ does not do that
yes: check your definition and more specific: check your channel modifier ... maybe ch 4 and 5 has a channel modifier template set to: 'always on' <- but this is unlikely and rather a specialised matter - but hey ... check it nevertheless...

Good luck

Hello

Glad its not just me it is stumping!

I have had a play today and have got it working! I have edited the fixture and changed channel 4 and 5 to an intensity channel it was set as an effects channel. I have also discovered it was set as on LTP so switched to HTP in the channel properties and it appears to be working as I expected it to!

I had a try at sending it values between 224-239 and could not see it having any effect. In fact intensity sees to be affected at all values between 0 and 255 so i think the manual is wrong where it says no function, Good idea contacting the manufacturers, I certainly will do that!

Will check the channel modifier though!

Thanks for your help!
