Import from QLC

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

I spent all day getting QLC working only to find it's been abandoned :(
I was able to open my workspace from the older version.
I'm not able to use my previous Virtual Console to work in Operate Mode.
All my Scenes and Fixtures came in no problem.

I found a setting for Universe 1 to use my DMX adapter.

Suggestions?

TIA

Hi,

can you tell us which QLC version did you use? Which QLC+ version?
Can you attach the qxw file here?

Original file is from Q Light Controller V3.2.2W
The Update file is from Q Light Controller Plus V 4.10.5B
This is my 1st ever attempt at DMX.
Been doing live sound for years.
Trying to go all wireless control :)

Thanks!

I think the "Bus" tag is causing problems.
It's been deprecated even by the original QLC author and I have no idea how to migrate its meaning to current QLC+ versions

There is some conversion in place (See bus.h/bus.cpp and Scene::m_legacyFadeBus). Since it doesn't work, maybe it's got broken during XML rewrite...

Guess I start from scratch.
It's a good learning experience :)

Thanks,

Bo,

It seems that the conversion went quite OK, except the timings. You'll need to setup them again.
What errors do you see after conversion? QXW files are plain XML files, so you can tweak them with any plain text editor.

I've noticed is that you have used generic dimmers instead of proper fixture definition. If you have proper definition,
QLC+ will help you create the scenes and so on by displaying (almost) real RGB color etc. (check also 2D View in DMX monitor).

If the fixture definition for your light is not included in installation, you may try to create your own (and share it with others here - Fixture Definitions forum),
or you may ask more experienced users to create it for you (Fixture Requests forum).

The fixtures are Laluce Natz. I got them off Amazon for $27 each.
The generic was the only way I could get any light out of them.
They are 7 Channel with 6 Red, 6 Blue, 6 Green LED'S.

I started over with a new workspace and they are working fine.
I'm still experimenting so starting over isn't that big of deal at this point.
I was amazed at what I was able to do with QLC.
I tried several others and I got nothing.
QLC Was a piece of cake!

Thanks for the help.
I'm sure I'll have more questions.

Since your fixture is not a frequent one, there is no definition for it yet.
As I said, you have to create one or ask other users to help you.
Create new topic in Fixture requests forum, post link to manufacturer/seller site and attach manual (pdf).
I tried to google the light, but I could only find one with 7 and 4 channel modes.

Custom definition will make working with light much easier.

It's the one with 7 and 4 channel modes.
Thanks for the help!!!
I'm a bit of a programming geek so when I have time to experiment
more this weekend I'll work on defining a fixture.
They are working great just using the generic one for now.
