Hello

I have a digital Enlightment USB interface ( fx5) and windows 7 64 Bit and want to Control LED spots an Movingheads with Q light Controller.

in the Q Light Controller at the plugin Page the Plug in is listed, but only as input.
No Output is listed.

When i update the Interface, than a massage came, that i should check if the UDEV RULES are installed.

What is the UDEV Rules and where can i install them ?

Also i have a Eurolite DMX 512 Pro interface, can i use this beause in the list it is only for MAC. ?

udev is a linux kernel mechanism to manage devices. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Udev

It's not relevant for windows.

1) there's no need to ask 1000 questions when you just need 1
2) do not invent things:
my other Interface the Eurolite USB Dmx 512 pro can't used, because Q Light Controller suport it only for IOS.
QLC+ doesn't even run on iOS. The Pro model is known to be supported only on Linux, unless someone proves it differently.

3) I don't have a FX5, so I can't help. It is supposed to be working on Windows because it shares the same code of Linux and macOS.
If it has issues on Windows, then someone with a FX5 and willing to help could provide some details.
If you really want to use the FX5, at the moment you need to use another OS. I suggest Linux

I also use other DMX Software and this Software support the Digital Enlightment Interface as output.

I need to use another OS ?
Why ist the FX5 Interface listed by the supported hardware for Windows, if it don't run ?

I try the version 4.10.0 and it works.

With 4.10.4 and 4.10.5 it doesn't work.

Hi,

I just did a short test with the FX5 and it did work without any problem. I tested 4.10.5 and 4.10.6 GIT on Win7 64 BIT and Win 8.1 64 BIT on different hardware.

I have a similar problem.
Using a DIY FX5, windows 10 64bit and QLC+ 4.10.5b.
I start QLC+ and plug in the FX5. All is working fine until i plug in another USB device.
Then i get the Error Message posted above.

Edit: Tested it with the Nodle U1. Same problem.

Sounds like this is not supported unless you guys provide some details about the device. In particular the USB VID/PID.
If they're different from the original FX5, then QLC+ might treat them like a generic HID device, which are normally input only devices

Hi Massimo,

I took a closer look to the FX5. Although the device is operating properly as output and input device, there are differences regarding the used OS. For that reason QLC+ (4.10.5b) is not able to print out the Manufacturer "Digital Enlightenment" with Windows 8.1 64 BIT and Windows 10 64 BIT and also the Product string "USB DMX" is not shown.

With usbtreeview http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html you see some differences in the description of the USB device:

Disclaimer: I don't have any HID device available and I don't know anything about FX5.

1. https://fx5.de/ contains this message:
Windows 8.1 und Windows 10: Wenn Sie Windows 8.1 oder Windows 10 benutzen, schließen Sie das Interface bitte zunächst an, starten den FX5-Installer und klicken auf "Installieren". Danach trennen Sie das Interface noch einmal vom Computer und schließen es erneut an. Danach ist das Gerät einsatzbereit.
I think you all guys are from Germany, but for others it says that for win8.1 and 10 do the following: connect the device, run installer, and replug the device.

2. only commits relevant to HID are these:
- https://github.com/mcallegari/qlcplus/c ... a0407861a2
- https://github.com/mcallegari/qlcplus/c ... 29a0ec499f

So it may be related to hotplug (this is supported by Fendo's comment "All is working fine until i plug in another USB device.")

3. HID API has some changes in git repo, not released yet. It may be useful to integrate them.

Hey,

the DIY FX5 have the same Firmware as the normal FX5. Same components and so on. So there is no different between them.
I also testet the Nodle U1 from DMXControl Project. (Which is based on the FX5) Its absolutly the same issue.

I tested the Installer from the FX5 site. The FX5 is not detected from the Installer and no Software is installed.
