external ip device causes qlc to stop on windows

Had/have a weird one...

Qlc 4.10.3a on windows (and linux)
No workspace loaded.
Using a Trancension sdc-6 as input. (This is a simple dmx 6ch controller).
Enttec usb mk2
Windows Vista.
Input profile copied from linux, but Qlc/windows still stopped when no ip-profile loaded.

With Enttec conected to usb and with dmx cable connected but no device(sdc6) connected , qlc runs fine. ie it stays working and doesn't stop.
Connect the sdc6 to dmx cable, but not switched on, Qlc runs fine.
Switch the sdc6 on, 3-5 secs Qlc stops, ie windows says qlc has stopped responding.

All the equipment and Qlc works ok with linux. Just windoze...

Any ideas pls?
