Hello,

I posted this before, but was using an old version of QLC+. I have updated and tried the test version, but am still experiencing this issue. Here's the issue:
I am crashing QLC+ when I try to use my audio interface. I am able to select the Input and/or Output boxes in the Audio tab of the Inputs/Outputs manager, but as soon as I press Play on the Level Monitor, QLC+ crashes. This issue happens no matter which box is checked for Output, it's only if my audio interface is selected as the Input, and then I press Level Monitor. The crash also happens if I do not try to monitor but instead add an Audio Trigger to my Virtual Console and then activate it. Seems to happen, then, whenever QLC tries to get data from my audio interface.

The audio interface I am using is the Thunderbolt R4 by Resident Audio, an interface that is connected via my Macbook's Thunderbolt connector. Running OSX 10.12.5, QLC version 4.11.0. Same results on the most recent test version of QLC+.

I don't believe this is an issue with the interface - I have used it successfully on several other programs - Ableton Live and Resolume Arena - with no issues.

Any suggestions or fixes you know of? Is this an issue other people are experiencing with other interfaces, or are other audio interfaces generally successful on QLC+? Are there other ways I should try to get audio input that isn't just from the computer internal microphone?

Thanks!

Ethan

Usually, macOS produces a crash log which sometimes is useful at least to understand the area where the crash happened.
Do you have any chance to share it here ?
Thanks

This is the log from my last post when I was using the old version - since it's the same issue, it should be the same log, right? If you need the full log or the log with the new version, I will replicate for you.

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same situation, did you find any answers to this question ?
I would really like to be able to use this audio triggers widget with my interface :)

Thanks

I don't know if this has already been addressed elsewhere, but I was looking in the forum threads before posting a new issue.

In any case, I have been fighting with this same issue for awhile, I thought maybe it was a problem with my audio chipset or the version of QT I was using.

Here is what I have found:

Issue effects both my desktop and laptop, running Linux Mint, with different but both Intel-based audio chipsets.
Identical effects with both the newest version 4.12.1, as well as all older versions I have tried.
Tried running it on a Windows 10 desktop, but while no crash, no audio input either, so inconclusive as to whether it is a Linux issue or not.
QT4 version crashes, QT5 version doesn't crash, but gets no audio input.

At long last, as some random attempt at changing something, I tried selecting Mono input on the Audio tab of Input Output Manager. Seems to be stable now, however, the Mono setting seems to be lost every time QLC+ is closed and is not saved in the configuration file.
