I have created a fixture for a Chroma-Q CHCS2 with Fixture Definition Editor 4.10.4. I think I did everything correctly but when I bring the fixture into QLC+, I get different properties than what I created the fixture with, i.e., Manufacturer - Generic, Model - Generic, Type - Dimmer. This does not reflect what is in the file I created.

Is there a syntax error that I am missing. I had other issues like the file name when I first started trying to create the file.

Please let me know what I can do to correct this.

Attach the fixture file

As I can tell you're using windows (next time please add it to your post) so you might need to read where the fixture must be placed in the documentation:
http://www.qlcplus.org/docs/questionsandanswers.html
Namely: the user folder (Q&A 5)

The file is in the proper folder.

Massimo,

Here is the file.

I did follow your very useful video tutorial. As I am new to this software and your forums, I apologize for omitting some information. I will update my signature shortly.

Thanks for you help.

You haven't added any mode to the definition !

There are 8 DMX modes according to this: http://www.chroma-q.com/support/manuals ... manual.pdf

I have started with a couple of modes, then you can continue that way. Attached.

You are correct. I see that now. I wrote down the information for that and then neglected to enter in the information. I knew it was an error on my part but could not see the foundation for the fault.

Thanks for your help and timely response. This will be one issue I will be sure to double check when creating new fixtures.
