Wanted to offer help with designing a fresh modern GUI but the site doesn't have a way to contact the developer, rather it discourages it.

For the record, I discourage contacting me privately. If every single QLC+ user sends me an email, I wouldn't do anything else in my life other than writing emails.
Since we're not talking about NASA big secrets, I think you can write here what you had in mind.

It would be logical to associate with scenes not fixtures, but types of fixtures. In a light show, you usually use several fixtures of the same type and a several fixtures different type. Fixtures of the same type differ only in the basic address of the DMX. Therefore, it is enough to make one scene, chaser and so on for TYPE fixtures, and tie them to fixtures already with respect to the base address of DMX. Thus, we will have one scene or function suitable for all fixtures of this type.

For the show and its timeline, I would take the idea of ordinary DAW when the track is tied to one fixture and plus it has sub-tracks that depend on the capabilities of the fixtures. This can be a sub-track of tilt/pan, color, gobo and so on. In addition, a grid with a musical division and a binding to it is needed. When this idea is realized, many producers of small groups will say thank you.

Now I'm studying the source code without haste, but I already notice that these ideas are easy to implement in the 4th version.
